Leveraging organizational performance and innovation Via knowledge management strategies in Turkey: Evidence from the Istanbul Stock Market
Abstract
The purpose of the present study is to examine the relationships among knowledge management strategies (codification and personalization), innovation, and organizational performance in the Istanbul Stock Market businesses. Research suggests that knowledge management strategies are essential capabilities for effective innovation and organizational performance. Through analysis of surveys collected from 203 mid-level managers, the present model under the study was empirically tested using the Partial Least Squares (PIS) method for the model assessment and analysis of the relationships among constructs. Our results show that knowledge management strategies had a statistically significant and direct positive effect on innovation and organizational performance. Most outstandingly, the results indicate that knowledge management strategies had a positive and statistically significant effect on organizational performance through the partial mediation effect of innovation. Also, findings demonstrate a different effect of KM strategies on diverse dimensions of organizational performance. Conclusions of the present study may help academicians and managers in implementing knowledge management strategies for the purpose of enhancing the innovation, effectiveness, efficiency, profitability and in improving organizational performance.
